Maximizing message delivery rates is the top priority for Real Magnet.
In pursuit of this objective, we take these measures:
-
Real Magnet operates a strict anti-SPAM policy.
All clients are expressly prohibited from sending SPAM from the
MagnetMail network and are required to abide by its Acceptable
Use Policy. The system is monitored for SPAM on a 24/7
basis and the company reserves the right to terminate service
to suspected Spammers without notice.
- Real Magnet maintains an on-going program to establish preferred
relationships with key ISPs - with the aim of gaining “White
List” status. It already enjoys this status from ISPs
such as AOL, Net Zero, EarthLink, and Juno.
- To further increase MagnetMail deliverability rates, MagnetMail
is moving to a new, more powerful mail engine. Not only will
the engine get your message out faster, but also produce a more
detailed bounce report. In addition, the new engine will allow
us to offer clients dedicated IP addresses. By utilizing dedicated
IP addresses, clients will not share IP addresses with other
MagnetMail clients. Thus, the integrity of the IP address is
wholly dependent on the actions of the client themselves.
- As a result of the frustration of many e-mail marketers and e-mail recipients,
more useful approaches for filtering e-mail are evolving; and, Real Magnet
is making use of the latest developments. The most promising approach
is “sender authentication,” which will require e-mail senders to validate
their identity. Using SPF, a record is published to a DNS database containing
the IP addresses from which your domain is authorized to send messages.
Once the message is delivered, the recipient server looks up the IP address
for the domain that the message claims to come from and then validates
its path. If the records match, the message is sent through. If they do
not match, the message will be filtered.
The Sender Policy Framework (SPF) is the first sender authentication to arrive on the market. Many of the largest e-mail providers, such as AOL, Yahoo and Hotmail, plan to implement SPF by the end of the summer; Real Magnet intends to be SPF-compliant by the end of July.
- MagnetMail places AOL recipients who report a client's message
as SPAM on that client's private "Do Not Send" list.
Many of the large ISPs (e.g. Yahoo, AOL, Comcast, etc.) now offer
their users an option to report a message as SPAM. But there is
no process for removing the SPAM reporter from the sender's list.
Only AOL 9.0 provides senders (in this case, Real Magnet) with
notice that a SPAM report has been made. MagnetMail processes
this notice and adds the SPAM reporter’s e-mail address
to the client’s private "Do Not Send" list.
As other e-mail account providers begin to provide similar
notification,
this functionality will be extended to cover those domains.
- MagnetMail contains a SPAM checker that analyzes the content
of messages for attributes that may trigger SPAM filters. The
SPAM checker applies more than 1,000 rules to a message’s
content - testing characteristics such as word use, colors, fonts,
as well as message headers, subject line, and the "from" field.
A report is generated that helps clients refine their message.
- Clients may set up their accounts to allow unsubscribers
to be unsubscribed from the specific list from which they received
the message or from all lists.
- As a best practice, clients are reminded regularly to ask
their recipients to forward Real Magnet’s technical information
(IP addresses and return paths) to recipient’s IT staff
with a request for White Listing.
- Real Magnet’s customer support staff is trained to
vigorously follow up with e-mail administrators at companies
where messages
are suspected of being filtered.
