About Us

In 2000, Tom Pines (CEO) and Mitch Eisen (CTO) launched Real Magnet. Their aim was to build a service-oriented company that treats its clients like partners, and uses technology to drive and measure customer interaction. The first product was a cross-channel application designed to use unique and interactive content to pull TV viewers online, and online visitors to TV. A central function of the application was its ability to notify registered users via email, and measure the responses to those email messages. Real Magnet was used by local affiliate stations of all major broadcast networks: ABC, NBC, CBS and FOX.

Soon the focus of Real Magnet’s application shifted to Email Services and developers began building out the user interface, rich analytics and outstanding deliverability tools that characterize Real Magnet to this day.

While Email has always been at the core of Real Magnet, the vision for the application has always been an integrated communications platform. Fax, Surveys, Event Registration, SMS and RSS channels were integrated early on, and now Social Magnet links email to social media with unprecedented functionality, reporting and insight. Coming next is a full suite of Marketing Automation tools, all connected through the same database and analytics.

Today, Real Magnet is a leading Email Services Provider (ESP) with over 1,000 clients across a range of industries, from associations, to publishing, hospitality and education. While the application itself continues to evolve as an integrated communications platform, the company remains as service-focused as ever, with 24/7 support staffing out of the Bethesda, MD headquarters, and account managers working hands-on with clients across the country.
