MagnetMail's Campaign tool is a powerful feature that can improve the effectiveness of your e-mail marketing and communications. Using the tool, you can program scheduled actions to take place—such as sending a message or adding recipients to a group—on a recurring basis. Moreover, multiple actions can be grouped together to create automated, self-sustaining campaigns.

Here are a few of the useful tasks that can be automated using the Campaign tool:

  • Send a welcome e-mail to individuals who sign up for your e-mail newsletter
  • Send a follow-up e-mail to recipients who clicked on a particular link
  • Suppress or delete recipients whose e-mail addresses consistently bounce
  • Send a fax to recipients who consistently bounce asking them to update their e-mail address
  • Add recipients to discrete groups based on their survey responses
    Send a reminder e-mail to recipients who opened a message but did not complete a survey

The Campaign tool is ideal for situations where the criteria for an action are dynamic. Let's say you wanted to send a follow up message to recipients who opened a message. Currently, you would have to access the tracking every day to identify who opened it, add those recipients to a group, and then send a follow-up message. With the Campaign tool, you to create and define these actions once and schedule them to run every day.

Using Custom Date Fields, you can trigger actions in your campaign to happen on specific dates. Thus, you could set MagnetMail to send a message to any list member whose membership or subscription expires in 60 days, and a different message to any list members whose expiration is 14 days away. Date fields also make periodic actions possible: sending out birthday messages monthly is one such example.
